1. Walk around my neighborhood and see who will stop what they are doing for a dollar.
2. I will approach anyone so that I avoid stereotyping.
3. Im going to get their attention and then ask them if they want the dollar.
4. My plan is to have small talk and get the dollar out fast. The longer you have a strangers attention for the less you have their attention.
5. I think all 5.
I enjoyed this exercise it was fun. However I don't think we should have filmed them that was weird. Giving away the dollar was very easy. My estimates were correct I was 5/5.
Funny how the young fellow took the money with no problem and walked away instantly afterwards. The older guy lingered for a bit to see if there was more to your question. Very interesting how people behave differently depending on age. Good job.

ReplyDeleteI thought it was pretty funny that all you had to do was go up and only ask "hey do you want a dollar?" Like Cristal said, the younger girl just straight up without hesitation took the dollar and was on her way, pretty funny too.

I thought that your videos went really smooth. My experiences did not go how your videos did! Mine were much more awkward and the people thought that there was more to me giving them a dollar. ReplyDeleteI’m glad you found this assignment fun and easy. I found it harder than I thought to give away the dollars. I think that in today’s society we are taught to be skeptical of anything that is labeled “free”. I also thought filming this assignment was stupid. It’s actually a crime in the state of Florida to record people without their permission. I didn’t think it was smart for our teacher to require something like that from us. Great job! I agree, I thought everyone would take the dollar, cause free money, and they did. I like that you did it quickly cause strangers don't want to talk to you for that long.
