2) The opportunity that I recognized was a social one. I noticed that many people went to mid town only on Wednesdays and Fridays due to drink specials. That being said, I wanted to encourage people to go out more often. Therefore, I came up with the solution to create a promotional company that encouraged people to go out more often through the use of drinks specials and event planning. The name of my business is University Entertainment.
I do think that an app that promoted more socializing could benefit the people and local businesses. I think this would be something like the app Living Social or even Groupon. One idea is that you could try to develop a point system that ties into your app. So people who were loyal to the program could earn points and potentially earn "free" vouchers for drinks or food at participating establishments. One thing I would add for your presentation, I think it is important to project enthusiasm about your venture, the presentation of your concept was a little monotone and flat. Good Luck.

Hey brother Hunter, this idea is solid. College students love to party and would definitely want to find the cheapest way to do so. This idea would bring in lots of money not just to you, but to local bars and clubs. An app would also make it an easier access for students rather than handing out promotion flyers or bands

Great idea. I actually remember being a freshman and wanting to go out but not knowing anything about where to go. I downloaded the partytutor app and don't really remember much about it because it was not very helpful but it seems sort of similar to what you are trying to accomplish. I actually remember thinking about how cool of an app it would be if it had better information/features, and it seems like you have the ideas to do just that. Good luck with this! Thought it was a good presentation, you were very comfortable and clear, easy to understand.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely one idea that would be embraced by both sides of the game, the bars and students. Students because they would want more flexibility of choice, and the bars because they would prefer to have a more spread demand rather than have only 2 days of high volume, perhaps high cost in the week. Next I believe you should focus on how you create buz around your service.
